Delhi - Agra - Jaipur - Pushkar

Day 1 :  ARRIVE DELHI (INDIA)
Arrive Delhi - meet & transfer to hotel.
Overnight : Hotel in Delhi

 

 

Day 2 :  DELHI
Morning : OLD DELHI – visiting the Raj Ghat, Red Fort, and the Jama Masjid. At the Chandni Chowk board cycle rickshaws and see the sights & sounds of this busy street with its quaint shops & ancient gateways.
Afternoon : Tour of NEW DELHI - drive past the stately government buildings of the British Era designed by Lutyen’s, including the Indian Gate & the Presidential  Palace.  Continue onto the beautiful Humayun’s tomb of the Mughal era & thereafter visit the towering minaret of Qutab Minar.
Overnight : Hotel in Delhi

 

 

Day 3 :  DELHI - AGRA
Morning : After breakfast drive to Agra (4 hrs.)
It was during the Mughal era that Agra first gained prominence, during the 16th and 17th centuries when it served as their capital. The Moghul passion for building endowed Agra with some of the loveliest buildings in the world.
Afternoon : The massive Agra Fort was started by Akbar in 1565, and was added to over the years. Initially it was a military structure, with 2.5 Km long, 20 metre high double walls protecting its inhabitants.
Evening : Emperor Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal between 1630-1653 as a memorial in white marble to his queen Mumtaz Mahal. Taj Mahal is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and the greatest love stories ever written with white marble and precious stones.

Day 4 :  AGRA - FATEHPUR SIKRI - JAIPUR
Morning :  After breakfast depart by road to Jaipur, a journey of about six hours. En-route visiting Fatehpur Sikri, it was intended to be the capital city but the shortage of water and unrest in the north-west made Akbar abandon it.
Thereafter continue drive to Jaipur.
Jaipur is the state capital of Rajasthan and owes its name, planning and foundation to the Maharaja Jai Singh II. In 1727.

Day 5 :  JAIPUR
Morning : After breakfast visit Amber Fort - Visit the imposing Amber fort on the outskirts of the Pink City. Ascend the Fortress Palace & visit the exquisite palaces, the hall of mirrors & the majestic ramparts of this ancient capital of the Rajput Empire.
Afternoon : Tour of Pink City visit the imposing City Palace now a museum, the ancient Observatory, the exotic palace of Winds and the picturesque bazaars of the walled city.
Overnight : Hotel in Jaipur

 

 

Day 6 :  JAIPUR - PUSHKAR
Morning : After breakfast drive to a small quaint town of Pushkar (3 hrs)
Arrive and check into Tented Camping.
The town clings to the side of the small but beautiful Pushkar Lake with its many bathing ghats and temples. For Hindus, Pushkar is a very important pilgrimage centre. Pushkar is also world famous for the huge Camel Fair which takes place here each October / November.

Day 7 :  PUSHKAR
Witness the famous and colourful fair - where the desert tribes and camel caravans meet to trade cattle, camels, goat, sheep clothes, jewellery and spices beside the sacred Pushkar Lake and to perform their rituals in its waters, to the accompaniment of temple and folk music.

Day 8 : PUSHKAR - DELHI
After leisurely breakfast departure transfer to Ajmer railway station
1550 Hrs:  Depart by Shatabdi Express to Delhi
2245 Hrs : Arrive Delhi – meet & transfer Hotel.
Overnight: Hotel in Delhi

 

 

Day 9 :  DEPARTURE
Transfer to International airport for flight to home.
