Delhi - Agra - Gwalior - Khajuraho - Orcha - Bhopal - Indore - Dhar (Mandu)

Day 1 :  ARRIVE DELHI
Arrive Delhi - meet & transfer to hotel.
Overnight : Hotel in  Delhi

 

 

Day 2 : DELHI
After breakfast proceed for tour of  OLD DELHI – visiting the Raj Ghat, Red Fort, and the Jama Masjid. At the Chandni Chowk board cycle rickshaws and see the sights & sounds of this busy street with its quaint shops & ancient gateways.
Later Tour of NEW DELHI - drive past the stately government buildings of the British Era designed by Lutyen’s, including the Indian Gate & the Presidential Palace.  Continue onto the beautiful Humayun’s tomb of the Mughal era & thereafter visit the towering minaret of Qutab Minar.

Day 3 : DELHI - AGRA
Morning after breakfast drive to Agra (4 hrs.)
It was during the Mughal era that Agra first gained prominence, during the 16th and 17th centuries when it served as their capital. The Moghul passion for building endowed Agra with some of the loveliest buildings in the world.
Afternoon : The massive Agra Fort was started by Akbar in 1565, and was added to over the years. Initially it was a military structure, with 2.5 Km long, 20 metre high double walls protecting its inhabitants.
Evening : Emperor Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal between 1630-1653 as a memorial in white marble to his queen Mumtaz Mahal. Taj Mahal is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and the greatest love stories ever written with white marble and precious stones.
Overnight : Hotel in Agra.

 

 

Day 4 : AGRA - GWALIOR
Morning after breakfast transfer by road to Gwalior.
Gwalior is situated at the geographical and historical crossroads of India with its immense shining fortress. Built on the site of a 5th Century temple of the sun, the fort embraces temples, palaces and mosques, a full afternoon’s sight-seeing.

Day 5 : GWALIOR - JHANSI - KHAJURAHO
Morning after breakfast transfer to Gwalior railway station for train to Jhansi.
On arrival transfer by road to Khajuraho and check into the hotel. Rest of day at leisure.
Overnight : Hotel in Khajuraho

 

 

Day 6 : KHAJURAHO
After breakfast proceed to visit the temples, provide an entertaining and instructive afternoon’s viewing, for all human life is depicted here showing the beliefs that there is no superiority between the physical and spiritual aspects of existence.

Day 7 : KHAJURAHO - ORCHHA
Morning after breakfast transfer by road to the medieval riverside city, Orchha. The afternoon sightseeing will embrace some of the numerous palaces, pavilions, lodges and temples.

Day 8 : ORCHHA - JHANSI - BHOPAL
Morning transfer by road to Jhansi railway station for train to Bhopal, on arrival transfer to hotel.
Situated around two artificial lakes Bhopal is an important historical town.
Afternoon short city tour. Rest of day at leisure.
Overnight : Hotel in  Bhopal

 

 

Day 9 : BHOPAL
Morning : After breakfast excursion to Sanchi.
Afternoon : Excursion to Bhimbetka the site of south Asia’s richest collection of prehistoric cave paintings.
Overnight : Hotel in  Bhopal

 

 

Day 10 : BHOPAL - INDORE
Morning after breakfast depart for a long drive to Indore, en route visiting Ujjain, once an important trade centre on the route to Egypt and still one of the holiest pilgrimage centres for Hindus.
On arrival check into the hotel. Rest of day at leisure

Day 11 : INDORE
Discover this liberal city containing the extraordinary Kanch Mandir, a Jain temple of mirrors. Rest of day at leisure.

Day 12 : INDORE - DHAR (MANDU)
Morning transfer by road to Dhar, a fascinating drive full of historic sights such as Omkareshwar a sacred Hindu island. On arrival check into the hotel.  
Overnight : Hotel in Dhar

 

 

Day 13 : DHAR (MANDU)
A full day in Mandu high up in the Vindhaya hills. Mandu has been a fortress town for many centuries, replete with palaces, mosques, canals and cenotaphs.
Overnight : Hotel in Dhar

 

 

Day 14 : DHAR - INDORE - MUMBAI
Morning at leisure. Later transfer to Indore airport for Mumbai,
on arrival transfer to hotel for wash & change

Late Evening : Transfer to Mumbai international airport for flight back home.

 

 

Day 15 : DEPART MUMBAI
